I want an NYC app that has a visual, color coded map of all street parking rules, regulations and street cleaning schedules.

Well....BestParking (app) kind of already does this pretty well.

This idea is more focused on *street* parking rules, especially in neighborhoods beyond Manhattan. Bestparking is focused on parking garages, so that's a different target not controlled by NYC.

I'm Ben, the Founder of BestParking. Our application includes a color coded calculator for on-street regulations in Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn. The app was one of the NYC Big Apps 2.0 winners.

why doe this need to be an app? can't someone just draw a nice picture?

@arseny - an app allows the map to change based on time, day of the week and day of the year. For instance, on a Sunday night, it might tell me the best place to park is a Monday street cleaning spot because Monday is a holiday -- whereas on a normal week the app might point me to a street with Friday street cleaning. Static images can't really do that...

@Arseny, is this what you had in mind by a drawing? We plan to add these alt-side maps into our app in the coming releases: http://www.roadify.com/blog/?page_id=1517

Stanton Island is still my favorite view of Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. So why not illuminate the island for pilots to see anywhere from Google Earth to 3000 feet in the air.
